tradition doesn’t suck
We love lagers but that comes at a price. We brew our lagers using the time honored decoction brewing technique. Taste our German style lagers and you’ll note the difference.

craft conquers all
We’re proud to be Kalispell’s first independently owned craft brewery. Brick by brick we’ve built a following because we love beer and don’t cut corners.

community on tap
We believe that taprooms are the original social network. Grab a beer and talk to your neighbors.
our story
Kalispell Brewing Company is the city’s first independent craft brewery located in historic downtown Kalispell, Montana. Founded in 2012 by the husband-wife duo, Cole Schneider and Maggie Doherty, the English-major, former ski racing, beer-loving couple launched their love of beer and brewery culture by resurrecting the former Hendricksen Motors building on Main Street. After a long, and often arduous renovation, Kalispell Brewing opened its doors in the summer of 2014.

our values
Make people happy with beer. After all, the difference between happiness and hoppiness is just one letter.
Support & celebrate the place where we live and play. The Flathead Valley is our home, and we like to raise a glass after a day’s worth of adventures.
Cultivate an appreciation for beer. Life is already complex enough, beer shouldn’t be.
Never compromise on taste, quality, or ingredients. If we can’t make it right, we won’t make it.

brewery FAQ
Want to order a keg for a private event? Have some questions? Here is our FAQ.
Unfortunately we do not. Our beer is only available in our current distribution zones throughout Montana, which include the Flathead Valley, East and West Glacier, Helena and Great Falls.
We would love to contribute to every worthy cause, but unfortunately we are unable to accommodate every request. The majority of our charitable efforts are focused on our Benefit Brews program. We are dedicated to supporting our local community, so we do donate to causes outside of Benefit Brews on a limited, discretionary basis. KBC always accepts donation request forms with a 30-day advance notice. Please find the form here.
We publish current job openings on our website and social media channels.
We’d love to host your event. We do book private events in our taproom. To check open dates or inquire about pricing and other information, please e-mail info@kalispellbrewing.com.
General inquiries can be made by phone at 406.756.BREW (2739), by emailing info@kalispellbrewing.com, or by mail at P.O. Box 1886, Kalispell, MT 59903. We’d love to hear from you!
We do not reserve tables and chairs in advance outside of private events. Seating in the taproom is first come, first serve. If you do have a large group, we would appreciate knowing the group size ahead of time. The more notice we have, the better and quicker we can serve you!
We do not serve food out of the tap room, but we do have a food truck here every day! Our resident food truck, Handle Brews is here Monday though Saturday from 11am to 7pm. Serving up handcrafted burgers and sandwiches on their homemade flatbread, and brunch on Sunday from 10am to 2pm!
Absolutely! KBC loves to be your meeting place for celebrations of all kinds. You can bring whatever makes your celebration great (within reason), including balloons and cake!
For the safety and comfort of all of our patrons, any pets other than service animals, are not allowed in the taproom. We do have one dog friendly patio, out the back of the brewery, for you to enjoy a brewski with your pup!
Tiny humans are welcome. We pride ourselves in offering a family-friendly environment, we just ask that your children please stay with you at your table while you are here. We do offer a range of non-alcoholic sodas and small snacks available for purchase as well.
We do not have any gluten-free beers. We do offer a selection of sodas for our gluten-averse friends.
Most of KBC’s beers are not vegan, with the exception of our Snowslip Stout and Hole in the Wall Hefeweizen. We do not filter our beers and instead use a traditional fining process in our brewing technique that is not vegan-friendly.
Let us show you around! Please email info@kalispellbrewing.com for more information.
We’d love to tell you about it! Please visit our beer page on our website for all the details about how we brew our beer, and what styles we have on tap!
We distribute our beers throughout the Flathead Valley and West Glacier with Flathead Beverage Company. We have also added East Glacier, Helena, and Great Falls to our rounds throug Eagle Beverage. Our cans can be found in grocery and convenience stores and specialty bottle shops. We are also on tap in restaurants throughout our distribution zones.
Yes, the first floor of our taproom, including our bathrooms, are handicap accessible.
We are a equal-opportunity growler-fill business. We’ll take any growler that you bring us (32 and 64 ounces) and fill it with our beer! We also have a Little Free Growler Library, full of growlers from breweries around the U.S. that you can use for a fill and then return to KBC.
Yes, you can!
Growlers should be enjoyed within 24-72 hours of filling for best results. Keep filled growlers cold and dark. Do not allow a filled growler to warm or freeze, due to potential shattering.
Once you’ve sipped that last drop, throw away the cap and clean the growler with hot water immediately. Soap may be used as long as it is not fat or oil-based. Allow the growler to air dry. Do this, and your growler will be ready for a fresh fill whenever you are!
Our parking lot is located on 4th street, on the west side of our building. There is also ample parking on the streets of downtown Kalispell. Bike parking is located in the back as well.
Free WiFi is available! See your friendly beertender for details.
Yes you can! We offer ⅙ barrel (5 gallon) and ½ barrel (15 gallon) kegs of our flagship beers only, depending on availability. Please give us a call and we can help you with your order process. (406) 756-2739
Just as the selection of hops and malt play a vital role in brewing, enjoying beer from of a glass that’s intended to bring out all the nuances of flavor, color, and aroma, is just as important. Simply, a specifically designed beer glass will enhance your experience for complete craft brew enjoyment. Plus, it’s just plain fun. We’re all about fun. We serve our beers in 12 ounce glasses. With the 48 ounce serving limit for Montana tasting rooms, you’ll have an opportunity to enjoy four beers during your visit.
Serving limits are due to Montana state law governing taprooms. In our taproom, you can enjoy up to 4 craft brews served in 12 ounce style specific glassware per daily visit. Montana law also stipulates our hours, so we can not serve beer past 8:00pm. However we can fill growlers, which are consumed off premise and sell Crowlers or 6-packs until 9:00pm.
